Monster Porn Podcast is now open for submissions of short fiction! We’re looking for stories that range from 2,000-3,000 words and 4,000-6,000 words for our short format and full episodes, respectively.
We pay $25 per story for the 2-3k range and $50 per story for the 4k-6k range.
What are we looking for? Well, if you listen to Monster Porn, you should have a good sense of whether your work might fit. Monster Porn runs an eclectic mix of horror, weird fiction, speculative fiction, surreal fiction, dark fantasy, and even, occasionally, science fiction. The unifying theme is that we like it weird. Sometimes we like things goofy and absurd; sometimes we like straight-faced drama or writing that makes you think.
We do not accept actual porn. Except maybe for our personal collections.
If you believe you have what it takes to be a monsterpornographer, email your completed manuscript in doc, docx, or pdf format to email@example.com along with a short author’s bio.
Please observe standard manuscript format. Here’s an example/tutorial from author William Shunn. The short of it is: double-spaced, 12pt Courier or Courier New with 1″ margins. Place title 1/2-1/3 down the first page with personal information in the upper left corner and word count approximation in the upper right. Place last name, title (or shortening thereof), and page number in the header of every page except the first. You needn’t match Shunn’s specification exactly, but the above specifications will be the most important specs to any editor, including us.
We prefer previously unpublished works. If the submitted work has been published previously (including on a personal website or social media), please cite that publication in your submission.
When you submit your work to Monster Porn Podcast, you are certifying that you own the appropriate rights to the submitted work, and you are granting Monster Porn Podcast nonexclusive audio and text rights, and nonexclusive, perpetual worldwide electronic distribution rights.
MPP solicits music for use in podcast episodes. Send your track, or a public link to your track (e.g. Soundcloud, Youtube, Bandcamp, etc) to firstname.lastname@example.org with any other relevant information. Artist’s bios are encouraged to aid in our selection.
Factors for acceptance include not only quality of performance, recording, and composition, but, perhaps even more so, whether the music fits the theme and tone of an upcoming episode. Most genres are welcome, from acoustic to electronic to hard rock.
MPP is interested in collaborating with up-and-coming and established artists. To inquire, email email@example.com or get in touch via social media.
Have Monster Porn fanart? We’d love to see it! Share it with us on social media and we’ll share it with the world!
